Madame Web: Dakota Johnson in talks to join Sony Spider-Man Universe
Dakota Manley could soon be outfitted to experience her first superhero role, as she’s in the foretells to portray Madame Web in Sony’s approaching madame web spiderman spinoff.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 32-year-old actor would portray the title’s character in “MadameWeb,” the Sony spinoff based around The Spider-Man character. S.J. Clarkson is scheduled to direct the film part of Sony’s growing collection of films inspired by Marvel characters.The story centres around Madame Web, a mutant who has psychic powers that make her predict the future of superheroes across the universe.
The Web is the first superhero female to be part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.In comics, Web is a blind older woman suffering from Myasthenia Gravis, an autoimmune condition requiring her to use a life-support system. Web guides her fellows rather than risking her own life amid conflict.Clarkson, an actor and writer on ‘Jessica Jones and The Defenders’ and ‘The Defenders’ will take over the project with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who wrote the script.Sony is working on the film following the popularity of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Additionally to ‘Madame web Additionally to ‘Madame Web,’ The new Sony is expanding the Spider-Verse to incorporate films which include “Venom,” “Morbius,” and “Kraven.’ Madame Web would also mark Johnson’s initial film since ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey.’Johnson was most recently Johnson played in the critically-acclaimed film ‘The Lost Daughter’ and Sundance Film Festival Audience Award winner “Cha Cha Real Smooth.”
