The best TV shows and series on Netflix
Are you finding yourself out of great television to watch? It might be time to get your act together and start watching Dark, the most popular show on Netflix. A mind-bending drama that expertly mixes family drama inside with time travel. Dark is one of the rarest items: it’s a series that doesn’t have one single drop in quality. The three seasons are all top-quality in every way you can think of.
Dark is, in its simplest form, a series about mystery. Like Stranger Things — the show that it is most often in comparison to its debut season is focused almost entirely on the search for missing children. In this show, the child isn’t in an alternate universe, but rather an alternate time thirty years ago; long Dark is a show that runs across several different dimensions and time zones.
Dark has all the elements. It is a complex show that weaves plot twists to create Westworld, which appears to be the kind of show kids would love to play. It is successful in achieving these twists because it also is a sly investigation into broken family relationships and the phobia of small-town fear of the Dark.
The show juggles the dangers of time travel stories with ease. Dark’s plot is complicated to the point that I’m constantly watching for the show to break down. I waited for three years in anticipation of Dark to throw the ball and fall under its weight; however, it did not.
Perhaps the most dangerous thing you can be able to say about Darkness is the fact that it’s pretentious. Contrary to other time travel shows, such as Outlander -a camp show that essentially begs viewers to watch it ironically dark Dark is a serious show. It’s almost relentless.
Dark will require you to take an interest in what’s happening on-screen truly. It encapsulates its story with multiple explicit references to Ariadne or the Bible. In most science fiction, this could be enough to make my eyes splinter from their sockets and fall to the back of my head, but Dark makes its claims to greatness by being good enough to last.
Black Lives Matter: Movies and TV show that put racism in the spotlight
You’d like to spice up your tightly-knit plot to life through stunning performance and brilliant writing by making allusions of Greek mythology and literature from the past? Who is I to deny it? Go for your life.
The best thing about Dark is it’s unlike other “prestige shows,” there’s no dip in the quality. There aren’t “wilderness” seasons like Lost. And skippable episodes, such as Stranger Things. Dark does not speed towards its end as Game of Thrones, or reveal years of character development to the plot of a service. It’s not. It’s calm and precisely stays extremely enjoyable from beginning to end. I’m unable to think of another show quite like it. It’s not even on Netflix.
Why isn’t anyone talking about it? Why isn’t there a show of the consistent quality of Dark popular on Twitter? Why aren’t people expressing their anger over spoilers or engaging in discussions about ending friendships on Facebook? Dark literally just released its amazing finale season on Netflix and it’s that no one is paying attention — not even Netflix itself is even paying attention?
Perhaps it’s due to the fact that it’s “complicated”? Maybe. Dark isn’t easy to follow and is expecting its viewers to remember the intricate details of a sprawling family tree that spans in multiple different timelines.
Are the shows of Dark under-promoted compared to the other series on Netflix? Possibly. I started watching Dark following the premiere episode of Stranger Things. Stranger Things does appear to exist in the shadow of the more popular shows on the suggestions.
Do you think it’s simply because the film is German? Even with Parasite’s success during the Oscars, I believe that subtitles remain a significant hurdle. I could see the possibility of a major US network buying the licence for Dark and putting out the (most likely subpar) version of the show that features actors who speak English.
It’s there. You probably already subscribe to three seasons of great television via a streaming service. Dark will not disappoint you and will not turn into shit similar to Game of Thrones. Dark won’t be a stalemate as Deadwood or make any sense as Westworld.
Dark is there. It’s there to be talked about and considered. To become obsessed with. You can do yourself a favour and watch it.
